"Invisible" is the fifth track off Linkin Park's seventh studio album One More Light. It was released as a promotional single on May 10, 2017.[1]
Background[]
In 2015, as Linkin Park were touring for The Hunting Party, Mike had worked with a couple of artists in London. He later introduced the group to the songs and was met with positive responses. It was revealed over a year later that one of those collaborations was with Justin Parker on the song "Invisible."[2]
In early 2016, the band would upload pictures of them working with Justin in the studio.[3] They would also discuss about working with him[4] and additional producer Andrew Dawson[5] later in the year.
Lyrics[]
"Invisible" is one of two songs that talks about Mike's relationship with his children, the other being "Sorry for Now." The former is a song written for when Mike's kids reach adolescence and inevitably have conflicts with their father.[6]
Justin helped Mike with the lyrics, advising him to avoid writing with any music in mind and solely write with the meaning of the lyrics themselves in mind instead.[7]
Production[]
"Invisible" was largely built around Mike's writing and production, although Jesse Shatkin and RAC helped him out with the bridge.[8]
Lyric video[]
On the day of the song's release, a lyric video for "Invisible" was uploaded onto the band's official YouTube channel.[9]
Live[]
"Invisible" was first performed on February 27, 2017, on The Late Late Show with James Corden, although the performance didn't air until later in June.[10] July 6, 2017, was the last performance of the song, as well as the last performance from Chester as a whole.[11]

Lyrics[]
I've got an aching head
Echoes and buzzing noises
I know the words we said
But wish I could've turned our voices down
This is not black and white
Only organized confusion
I'm just trying to get it right
And in spite of all I should've done
I was not mad at you
I was not trying to tear you down
The words that I could've used
I was too scared to say out loud
If I cannot break your fall
I'll pick you up right off the ground
If you felt invisible
I won't let you feel that now
Invisible
Invisible
Invisible
Invisible
You didn't get your way
And it's an empty feeling
You've got a lot to say
And you just want to know you're being heard
But this is not black and white
There are no clear solutions
I'm just trying to get it right
And in spite of all I should've done
I was not mad at you
I was not trying to tear you down
The words that I could've used
I was too scared to say out loud
If I cannot break your fall
I'll pick you up right off the ground
If you felt invisible
I won't let you feel that now
Invisible
Invisible
Invisible
Invisible
This is not black and white
There are no clear solutions
I'm just trying to get it right
And in spite of all I should've done
I was not mad at you
I was not trying to tear you down
The words that I could've used
I was too scared to say out loud
If I cannot break your fall
I'll pick you up right off the ground
If you felt invisible
I won't let you feel that now
Invisible
Invisible
Invisible
